Child Safety
GasApp child safety standards
GasApp prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming and sextortion. Accounts used for this are removed.
Not for children. You must be 16 or older to use GasApp (see the Terms of Use). It is not designed to attract children.
What we can and cannot see. Messages are end-to-end encrypted: the server cannot read them, and we cannot scan their content. What we can act on is a report and the account behind it.
How to report
- In the app, a person: open the contact, tap Report. The report reaches us; the person is not notified.
- In the app, a channel: open the channel menu, tap Report channel and choose "Child safety concern". You can give us access to the channel so we can see its posts.
- By email:
abuse@gasapp.eu. You may attach screenshots — they are the only way we can see reported content, because we never hold readable messages.
What we do. A report is reviewed within 24 hours. An account engaged in CSAE is suspended and deleted; a channel used for it is deleted. Where the law requires, and in every case of apparent CSAM we become aware of, we report to the relevant authorities — in the EU to the national hotline (INHOPE network), in the US to NCMEC. We hand over what the server has, which is limited by design: the username, its public keys and the month it was last active (see our data retention policy).
